Toomey is seeking a property maintenance assistant to maintain and repair Toomey Residential and Community Services properties.
Responsibilities include:
1. Maintain and perform minor repairs on plumbing, electrical, heating, and air conditioning systems/units.
2. Maintain and install phone components.
3. Remodel and maintain properties as required including sheet rocking, painting, single story roofing, and masonry.
4. Maintain facilities in accordance with federal, state, and local codes.
5. Provide and maintain a safe environment.
6. Maintain guidelines and policies as established by the funding sources and Toomey Residential and Community Services.
7. Represent the agency in a positive and professional manner.
Must be 21 year's old and have a valid NYS driver's license with 4 points or less. High School Diploma or GED required. Up to three years of relevant experience required as well as specialized training, coursework, or skill acquisition related to the position. Position also requires creative problem solving, ability to lift 50 pounds, ability to operate power tools, mobility sufficient to drive to and perform maintenance on properties. Oral and written communication skills is a must. Will be required to successfully complete the OPWDD fingerprinting clearance.
